Exel's Suspension Tip Ferrule contains a spring-loaded piston that protects your shoulders from road shock when skiing on pavement. 3. An interchangeable Rubber Spike Tip Ferrule is also available for skiing on extra-hard surfaces such as concrete. Specifications All Exel poles come with wrist-cushioning "race straps". Race straps are wider than conventional loop straps. They velcro around the back of your wrist, helping to reduce the stress of poling. All shafts are carbon/fiberglass composite. The Formula has the highest carbon content and the best stiffness-to-weight ratio. The B-Tour pole has the least carbon. Shock-absorbing poles have a special adapter on the bottom of the pole shaft, so you can clip on a suspension tip or a rubber spike tip. Lengths from 120 cm to 180 cm. 5 cm (2") increments.
