The XLA850 is an improved version of one of V2's original skate skis from the 1990’s. From 1993 until he retired in 1999, Olympic champion Vladimir Smirnov used the original version of this ski for all of his skate training.

The wheel forks have full fenders, but speed reducers and brakes can still be mounted. The aluminum shafts are protected with a clear anodized coating. Wider, flatter, medium-speed solid-rubber wheels make the XLA850 easy to balance on, and the skis are lightweight with a short wheelbase, making them an excellent choice for beginners and junior skiers who have access to smooth pavement.
