The Hypersonic was once Madshus' high-end Olympic race ski. Our Hypersonics are brand-new; they've never been skied on. Originally sold for $600 a pair, we've discounted them 80% to give you an unparalleled skiing experience at a bargain price. Use them as training skis, 'rock skis', or full-fledged race skis.
Elite skiers have at least 3 pairs of classic race skis, with a different base grind on each:
1. Cold ski for below-freezing temperatures
2. Wet ski for wet, slushy and sticky snow at above-freezing temperatures
3. MGV (Multigrip Vario) waxless ski for temperatures right at the freezing point when waxing is difficult
If the skis you select don't have the correct base grind for your local snow conditions, you can have the bases professionally stone-ground to match the conditions you ski in.
Some of these Hypersonics have factory-installed NIS mounting plates that are compatible with Rottefella Exercise, Performance, Xcelerator and Xcelerator Pro bindings.
For flat skis without a mounting plate, there are two options for bindings.
1. We can install Rottefella Sport Skate or Salomon Prolink Access Skate bindings that screw directly into the ski and are not adjustable.
2. Or, if you need to adjust the binding position for different shoe sizes or differing snow conditions, we can install Rottefella Xcelerator mounting plates or RMP mounting plates that allow you to slide on an Exercise, Performance, Xcelerator, Xcelerator Pro or MOVE binding.
