Ice poles are essential tools for testing ice, and are also used for double-poling to improve balance, speed, and efficiency. The recently-released Skyllermarks Black ice pole includes several new and updated features and is among the best ice poles made today.
Before you cross an edge or a point in the ice where it changes color or appearance, you test the ice with an ice pole. Otherwise, you may enter too thin ice. A functioning ice pole will pierce several centimeters of ice in a single blow; this way you can quickly determine if the ice will hold or fail.
The ice poles from Skyllermarks are made with strong, lightweight aluminum tubes and tips of hardened steel, keeping their sharpness over time.
Both ice poles in this pair are identical, and can also be comfortably used for pushing or for stability on uneven ice. The special clips allow the two poles to be attached together.
Only sold in pairs.
Color choices are blue, black, and orange.
Only thick tips are available on the Blue poles.
Black and orange poles only have thin tips.
Both work excellently and the choice is highly personal. What is important is that you get to know your own ice pole.
There is a choice between three different lengths of poles. If you wish yours to be even shorter, it is possible to remove the handles and cut it down yourself.
